Vanessa Daou dives into sensuous sun-soaked panoramas with the sweltry 'Sunday Afternoons 2.0 [Mixes]'.

The sizzling follow-up to her equally steamy "2.0" mixes of "Alcestis on the Poetry Circuit", "Becoming a Nun" and "Near the Black Forest", 'Sunday Afternoons' is the latest remixed offering from Daou's highly-anticipated 'Zipless 2.0: Remixed and Reimagined' project: a modern retelling of the inimitable electronic jazz-pop chanteuse's much-vaunted 1994 solo debut 'Zipless (Songs From The Works of Erica Jong)'.

Daou enlists famed UK producer/remixer Rudy's Midnight Machine (aka Robin Lee of Faze Action) and New York DJ/production duo The Carry Nation (aka Will Automagic and Nita Aviance) to reinvent her smokey lustful original into a dynamic set of intoxicating re-rubs - each with their own distinctive flavor - for a new generation of music lovers to uncover.

Lee kicks off the proceedings with his dreamy sun-soaked mix propelled by breezy tropical rhythms, shimmery atmospherics, radiant melodies, creamy vocals and sultry Balearic grooves that strike the perfect balance between the organic and electronic, the quixotic and euphoric, the danceable and deeply chilled.

The Carry Nation expands upon the moody undercurrents of the original to deliver a brooding incantation simmering with dimly lit hymnal chords, fuzzy bass, sparse melodic keys, dusky vocals and a murky minimal electro groove punctuated with crisp percussion and hypnotizing electronic pulses.
